Betty McDougal Standridge, 92, passed away on September 22, 2024. She was born on January 24, 1932 to the late Miles Clinton McDougal and Bessie Martin McDougal. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Standridge, Jr.
She was a dedicated wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She always took care of her family especially as a fantastic cook. She truly enjoyed sharing her meals with family and friends. Betty enjoyed all types of music and found great pleasure in listening to some of her many favorites. She maintained an adventurous spirit of going and exploring into her 70's. She was a member of the Rockingham Baptist Church in Rockingham, North Carolina.
She is survived by her daughters, Carmen Bonita Ebbing and Nancy Rae Standridge, and Sheila Gail Farr; Sons, James B. Standridge III and Miles Jay Standridge. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services are cancelled due to weather concerns; A Service is scheduled for Friday, September 27, 2024, 1pm with Pastor Carroll Weaver officiating at Cochran|McDaniel Funeral Home McCaysville Chapel.
A family visitation with be held at the Cochran/McDaniel Funeral Home McCaysville Chapel, McCaysville, Georgia, on Friday, September 27, 2024 from 11:30 am until 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Association through alz.org.
