Betty Ruth Stephenson, 92, of Woodward, Oklahoma, died in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on November 21, 2025. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday, November 29 at 11:00 am at Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward.
Betty was born August 28, 1933, in Atwood, Oklahoma, to Clarence and Bertha Blackburn. She grew up and graduated from Atwood High School in 1951. Betty was united in marriage to Harold Ray "Steve" Stephenson on March 1, 1952, in Allen, Oklahoma. They were blessed with three children, Alan Ray, Keith Randall, and Linda Rosanne. She worked for the Woodward and Logan County Courthouses for many years in numerous roles and retired from Woodward County in 1998 after 25 years.
Betty and Steve were members of the First Baptist Church of Woodward. Her biggest joy in her life was her family, and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching them all play sports - football, basketball, baseball, track, softball, cheerleading and dance. Her favorite hobby was creating family photo albums with years and years of memories. She enjoyed cooking and baking, hosting her family for any occasion or holiday, playing board games and dominoes, and crossword puzzles. Betty's family will forever remember her for her deep love and determination.
She is survived by her son Keith Stephenson and wife Susan of Woodward, and her daughter Linda Trissel and husband Marlin of Stillwater; five grandchildren, Justin Stephenson and wife Tracy, Blake Stephenson and wife Steffanie, Brooke Robertson and husband Strett, Jamie Schuermann and husband Brent, Jenna Shipley and husband Lane; 11 great-grandchildren, Cade Stephenson, Paden and Caymon Robertson, Ally Stephenson, Carter Stephenson, Ty and Kale Stephenson, Cru Stephenson, Jace Schuermann, Hudson Shipley, and Beth Schuermann; one sister-in-law Lavon Stephenson of Arlington, Texas; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband Harold "Steve" Stephenson; parents, Clarence and Bertha Blackburn; brothers and sisters-in-law Wayne and Vera Blackburn, Nolen and Dorothy Blackburn; and son Alan Stephenson and wife Connie.
Memorial contributions may be made to the WOOF Pet Rescue in Woodward with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
