Funeral service for Betty L. Thrash age 89, of Frederick, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 A.M., Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Jackson Funeral Home Chapel, 921 S. Gladstone Avenue, Frederick, with Rev. Brent Morey officiating. Burial will follow in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery, under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home. Mrs. Thrash passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the McMahon Tomlinson Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Lawton.
Betty Lavinia (Langley) Thrash was born on July 4, 1935, in Mineral Wells, Texas to William Andrew and Evie Marie (Caraway) Langley. She was named after a wonderful lady named Betty, who cared for her and Marie before and after she was born. She was one of five children, Donald Clifton, Lloyd, Bobby Ray, and Shirley Anita. She attended Cashion Elementary in Arizona. Murphy Elementary in Phoenix, and later attended Phoenix High School. On August 11, 1954, she and Bobby Ray Thrash were united in marriage in Belton, Texas. To this union were born three children, Jimmy Ray, Roy Gene and Karen Lynne.
She is survived by one brother, Bobby Langley and his wife Pam of Phoenix, Arizona; one sister, Shirley Klavon of Meden, Nevada; one daughter, Karen Thrash of Lawton, Oklahoma; four grandsons, Jake Thrash and his wife Katey and their two children, Sophie and Jacob of Aurora, Colorado, Jesse Thrash and his wife Debbie and their three children, Layton, Brayden, and Lila of Parker, Colorado, Jason Thrash and his wife Jill and their daughter, Camryn of Summerville, South Carolina, and Dillon Thrash and his wife Lyric and their children, Ryan and Charlie of Moore, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Amber Perry and husband Chisolm and their children, LeeAnna and Raylee; two daughters-in-law, Sherrie Thrash of Englewood, Colorado, and Keri Thrash Johnson and her husband Ben of Purcell, Oklahoma; sixteen nieces and nephews, and many friends at Bible Baptist Church in Frederick.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Jimmy Thrash and Gene Thrash.
The family would like to pay special thanks to Phyllis Hendrix for her many years of dedication and service to Betty Lavina Thrash.
