A Bardstown resident, Mrs. Betty Joyce Tolliver, age 76, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025 at her residence. She was born June 30, 1948 in Bardstown to the late Orbery Lee and Elizabeth Estelle Riley Satterly. Betty was a 1966 graduate of Bethlehem High School, was a retired employee of Mitsuba and formerly worked at Hurst Drug Store. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and the American Legion Post 121 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was an avid bird watcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Donnie Satterly, Larry Satterly, and a sister, Marlene Norman. She is survived by her husband, Stephen Tolliver, 3 daughters, Julie Clay of Louisville, Lisa Tolliver of Bardstown, Sarah (Chris) Lockhart of Louisville, her son, Scott (Jamy) Tolliver of Bardstown, 3 sisters, Barbara (Rob) Graf, Linda (Jim) Luckett, Patty Royalty, all of Bardstown, 7 grandchildren, Elizabeth Clay, Claire Tolliver, Caryn Tolliver, AJ Lockhart, Brad (Aylissa) Thomas, Billy (Nina) Thomas, Ben (Trista) Thomas, 5 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Betty Joyce Tolliver will be 11:00 am Thursday, June 19, 2025 at St. Thomas Catholic Church with Fr. Ben Brown, celebrant. Interment will be in St. Thomas Church Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. Additional visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 8:30-10:30 am. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Nelson County or St. Thomas Catholic Church. The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
