Betty Lou Totherow

1940 - 2025

Betty Lou Roberson Totherow, 85, of Murphy, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025.
Betty was born in Cherokee County to the late Herman and Norma Stiles Roberson.
She worked in textile production as a line worker at OMC. Betty loved gardening, word searches, watching game shows, eating Oreos, spending time with her family, playing Bingo and working at the Senior Center. She also loved making jelly, taking part in GLOW luncheons and going to church. Betty was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Marble.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Ben Talmadge "Tal" Totherow; and her infant daughter, Marilyn Totherow.
She is survived by her sons, Mitchell Totherow (Glenda) and Chris Totherow (Sonja); her daughters, Sheila Weidner (Bill), Angie Reagon and Michelle Crawford (Rickey); her brothers, Richard, James and Hoyt Roberson; Marcil Hurt, Glenda McNabb, Janice Jordan and Sandra Smith; her grandchildren, Rebecca Homan (Mathew), Nathan Weidner (Stephanie), Barrett Davis, Heather Totherow, Josh Matheson, Cain Matheson (Maggie), Zachary Matheson (Lucy), Brittany Shook (Brandon), Brooklyn Shook, Christian Totherow, Ashley White (Christian), Noah Davis, Brianna Crawford and Laureen Crawford (Wade); and several great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held at noon Thursday, April 10, in Townson-Rose Funeral Home chapel in Murphy with Pastor Harold Stiles, Pastor Carroll Roper, Pastor Les Seal and Pastor Kenny White officiating.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Marble. Pallbearers were her grandchildren.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home chapel in Murphy.
Townson-Rose Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
