On the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, Betty Irene Ellison Troutman, 83, of Nebo, passed away at Autumn Care of Marion.
She was born to the late Noah Lewis Ellison and Letha Estelle Mann Ellison in Haywood County on September 10, 1942. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Troutman; her sister, Christine Craig; and the father of her children, Bruce Troutman.
Betty spent several years working at Marion Manufacturing where she truly enjoyed her work. She was a longtime member of Nebo First Baptist Church where she was very active as long as she was able. Whether in the nursery, the choir, or in Vacation Bible School, Betty enjoyed serving the Lord. She had a heart for animals and for her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandson. Betty was also known as a very crafty person. She liked drawing and making wreaths. She will be missed dearly.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Karen Troutman (Dee Thompson); daughter-in-law, Kathy Jimison (Myron); two grandchildren, David Troutman and Bryan Troutman (Brandy); and one great-grandson, Lucas Troutman.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Beam Funeral Service. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home and will be officiated by Pastor Doug Worley. Betty will be laid to rest at a later date at Nebo First Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers and in accordance with Betty’s wishes, memorial donations are encouraged to CarePartners Hospice & Palliative Care- McDowell or Nebo First Baptist Church.
