Betty Ann Vinson

Betty Ann Vinson, age 86, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 28, 2026. She was born on August 24, 1939, in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, to Arrie "Mug" and Rossie (Sewell) Burgin.
Betty grew up in Duncan, where she graduated from Duncan High School with the Class of 1957. On April 19, 1958, she married the love of her life, Thomas M. Vinson Sr., in Wichita Falls, Texas. Together they built a beautiful life and raised three children-Lisa, Angela, and Thomas "Mitch" Jr. Betty and Thomas shared 41 years of devoted marriage until his passing in 1999.
For more than four decades, Betty faithfully served as the church secretary at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, working alongside many pastors throughout the years. Her warm smile and genuine love for people and conversation made her a comforting presence to everyone who walked through the church doors.
In her free time, Betty had a tender heart for animals-especially cats-and lovingly cared for many in her neighborhood. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she delighted in every moment with them.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, A.J. "Mug" Sr. and Rossie Burgin; her husband, Thomas M. Vinson Sr.; her sister, Frankie and brother-in-law, Robert Duren.
She is survived by her children: Lisa Reames of Duncan, Angela Peck and husband Roger of Duncan, and Thomas "Mitch" Vinson Jr. of Oklahoma City; her grandchildren: Lauren Reames, Kaytlyn Reames, Matthew Peck and wife MiKayla, Andrew Peck and wife Laura, and Levi Peck and wife Hunter; and her great-grandchildren: Skyler Reames, Stetson Peck, Liam Peck, Raelyn Peck, Carter Peck, and Baker Peck. She is also survived by her brother, Arrie J. Burgin Jr., along with special nephews: Barry Duren and wife Tanya, and Brad Duren and wife Melissa.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, April 1, from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at Whitt Funeral Home. Funeral services are planned for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 2, in the Whitt Funeral Home Chapel with Barry Duren officiating. Interment will follow in the Duncan Municipal Cemetery with Roger Peck, Matthew Peck, Andrew Peck, Levi Peck, Brad Duren, and Danny McGuire serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Skyler Reames, Stetson Peck, and Liam Peck.
