Betty Jean Wheeler

Betty Jean Wheeler, 93, of Ringgold went home to be with her Lord Sunday, November 30th, 2025. Betty was born March 24th, 1932, in Chattanooga, TN to the late Raymond B. and Clara Anderson McCroskey. She was a lifelong resident of Ringgold. Betty was a dedicated 75-year member of New Liberty Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and church specials. She witnessed to all the gospel message whenever she had the opportunity to do so. Her life is marked by devotion to her family, especially all the grandchildren. She attended all the grandkids' activities to show her love and support.

Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Nagle W. Wheeler; son, Gary A. Wheeler; brother, James E. McCroskey; one great-great grandbaby in heaven, Mya Puckett.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis (Richard) Reed; daughter in law, Jennifer Wheeler; grandchildren, Sherrie (Randall) Crawford, Susan (Philip) Black, Greg (Becky) Wheeler, Ashley Moore, Amanda (Dustin) Powell; great grandchildren, Megan (Corey) Greene, Adam (Taylan) Crawford, Tanner Black, Hayden Black, Ethan Wheeler, Blake Brown, Ella Manning, Kelsey (Blake) Puckett, Madison Powell, and Jamison (Seth) Bray; great-great grandchildren; Reed Crawford, Emerson Crawford, Hallie Greene, and Wyatt Bray.

Funeral services will be 1 PM, Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Danny Henson officiating. Interment will follow at New Liberty Baptist Church.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Rosewood and Hearth Hospice for the love and care extended to their mother. They went above and beyond the call of duty taking care of her.
