Betty Lou Wilburn (nee Wallace), of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, May 24th, 2023, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of 68 years to Harley Eugene Wilburn, who preceded Betty in death. Daughter of the late Wesley J. Wallace and Myrtle L. Tyrey; devoted mother of Sandra (the late Steven Richardson), Gary (Terry) Wilburn, Steven (Carolyn) Wilburn, and Keith (Tamara) Wilburn; loving grandmother of Cara Smith (James), the late Kelly Ziegler (Russell), Stacey Decker (Jim), Jeff Wilburn, Heather Davis (Steven), Stacie Keene (Brad),  Rebecca Bohn (Todd), Kaitlyn Wisa (Scott), Sara Ellison (Noah), Jennifer Eyler (Todd), Dan Oberle, Brandon Hansen (Brittany), Kayla Capuano, Rachael Capuano, Kyle Capuano, Keith Wilburn Jr. (Marissa), Amanda McGuire (Matthew), and Sandy Wilburn (Justin), along with numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Betty is also survived by a brother-in-law, Darryl Wilburn (Linda), a sister-in-law, Delores (the late Art) Sauget, and a sister-in-law, Barbara Goodman.  

Betty is also preceded in death by two brothers, Avery L. Wallace, Leon J. Wallace, and two sisters, Mary J. Freeman (Wallace) and Avis J. Harrison (Wallace), and a stepmother, Doris Wilburn and a stepfather, Walter L. Provance.

Betty was a lifelong Christian and true believer in Jesus Christ. In her earlier years she enjoyed singing in the church choir, painting, crocheting, reading, and gardening. She worked for many years at Hill Behan Lumber Company in St. Louis as a secretary to the president. She was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, and deeply cherished her family. Betty was dearly loved and her memory will be a great blessing to all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Betty's name to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
