Betty Wilson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Smith Funeral Home - Anadarko on Dec. 7, 2025.
Betty Evelyn Wilson, age 76, was born February 23, 1949, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Joseph Harmon Wilson and Lillian Irene Nicewarner. She passed from this life on December 4, 2025, rejoicing as she received her wish to see Jesus and go see her heavenly home and we rejoice with her.

Betty made her home in Anadarko for most of her life. She married Bill J. R. Wilson, in May 2003 and together they built a life in faith, family, and love. Betty was a humble, kind, and meek-hearted woman whose children and family were the center of her world.

She was a devoted Christian leader, a faithful teacher of the Word, and a true prayer warrior. She loved the outdoors and was an expert gardener with a remarkable green thumb. Her flowers brought her so much joy-she loved yellow roses and Mexican petunias. Betty also loved her three cats, who were always close by her side.

Betty is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; her son Shelby James Post of Anadarko; stepson Justin Wilson; and stepdaughter Carla McLemore; siblings Joe Wilson, Linda Morgan, Shirley Miller, Boyd Lassiter, Larry Lassiter, and Joann Gamble; grandchildren Autana Jaquez, Justin James Post, Shaina Post, Sheldon Post, Amanda Post, and Zack Evett; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her infant son, Kevin James Post; her daughter, Michelle Denise Post; her grandson, Cory James Molinaro; and her sister, Anna May Jones.
