Betty J. (Wagner) Wright Yohe, age 91, of Spring Grove, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2023 at Country Meadows of Leaders Heights. She was the loving wife of the late Luther H. Yohe.
Betty was born in North Codorus Township on December 7, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Curvin and Mary (Wilhelm) Wagner. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson and was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post #5265 in Spring Grove, Ladies Auxiliary of Friendship Hose Company #1 in Spring Grove, Western York County Democratic Club, the Elks Lodge in Hanover, the Jefferson AARP, and the Viking Club in West York. Betty also loved antiques, especially glass dishes, and won several ribbons at the York Fair for her unique pieces. She also raised a few racehorses with her husband many years ago and raced her horses at Penn National and Charlestown Racecourses. Above all, Betty cherished her family and friends and the time she spent with them.
Betty is survived by her children William Wright and Carol, Allen Wright and wife Dale Ann, Susan Virtz and husband Paul, and Lori Diehl and husband Wayne; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her siblings Maurice Wagner, Harry Wagner, Edward Wagner, and Lucreta Bolden.
A Funeral Service in celebration of Betty's life will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 2:00PM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., of Spring Grove, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, PA 17362 with Rev. Matthew Folkemer-Leonard, Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson, officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Jefferson Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 1:00PM – 2:00PM on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty's memory may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 218, Codorus (Jefferson), PA 17311.
