Beulah Carter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Colvin Funeral Home - Princeton on Feb. 4, 2026.
Beulah Viola Carter, 96, of Princeton, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, February 2, 2026. She was born on July 26, 1929 in Gibson County, IN to the late Alvin and Helen Hardiman. Beulah was united in marriage to her beloved husband Clifton Carter and they shared 53 years of marriage together before his passing.

She was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church until it's closing and later became a devoted member of Wayman Chapel A.M.E. Church where she continued her walk in faith. Beulah worked for many years as a caretaker, a role she carried out with pride, diligence, and care. She loved gardening and took great joy in tending to her flowers and yard. She also enjoyed sitting outside, shopping, playing outdoor games, and baby sitting her 3 special "bunnies", Kim Cuzzort, Courtney Hardiman-Dyson, and Joshua Chavis. She loved hosting family reunions, cookouts, and volunteering at church functions. She will be remembered for her strong work ethic, kind heart, laughter, generosity, and a deep devotion to her family, friends, and church community.

In her final years, she was able to remain in her home that brought her comfort and peace thanks to the dedicated care of her niece, Deborah Mellor.

Beulah is survived by her loving nieces, Deborah Mellor (David), Valerie Young (Tim), Kenna Berry (Fred), and Lisa Greer all of Princeton; nephews, Craig and David Hardiman both of Princeton, and Marvin Don Hardiman Jr., (Debbie) of Indianapolis; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arvil, Marvin Sr., and Charles Hardiman; sisters-in-law, Phyllis and Sylvia Hardiman; nieces, Pamela Sue Hardiman and Sherry Chavis; nephews, Lawrence, Tony, and James "Strawberry" Hardiman.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to LaDonna at Heart-to-Heart Hospice for taking such good care of Beulah.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 7, 2026 at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton officiated by Reverend Floyd Edwards and followed by interment at Sand Hill Cemetery near Lyles Station.
