Beulah Kathryn Freeburg (Hinman) was born on August 7, 1937, to Verner and Kate (Johnson) Hinman in Dalton, NE. She grew up near Mud Springs where she attended Mud Springs Country School along with her siblings. She was picked on by everyone, including Russell Freeburg, who took notice of her early by putting her red ponytails in the ink well. Beulah's mother would have to cut her hair on those late afternoons. Upon graduation from Dalton High School, Bea went to work as a telephone operator in Sidney.
It was around this time that Russell took notice again of Bea and realized she had grown up. The two were married on January 28, 1956. They moved into a trailer on the Freeburg farm. During those days, Bea was helping care for her sister and was deeply impressed that God was looking for her. It is her testimony that she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at this time of her life. Over the next 6 years, they had 4 sons, Leonard, Todd, Ward, and Gary. She taught them cleaning, cooking, and dressing chickens, which became her "cookie jar" money.
She was faithful to her family even after they left home. Then came grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a great great-grandchild. These brought great joy and happiness to her home. She built her home with love and discipline. Bea's laugh could ease any confrontation. Beulah passed away on July 2, 2025, after attending a community cookout at her church. She spent her final hours fellowshipping with fellow believers and friends while celebrating her country. She was 87 years young. She was very active in Bible reading and church functions.
She is survived by her husband, Russell, of 69 years; sons, Leonard (Lorrie), Ward (Cheryl), and Gary (Denise), Brother, Ed (Marge) Hinman; sisters in-law, Carol, Mary, Kathy, and Brother-in-Law, Ray. 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her son, Todd; her parents; siblings, George, Archie, Ruth, Venette, James, Kenneth, and Louise, and many other friends and family.
