Beverlee DAHMEN Obituary

January 14, 1929 - September 14, 2025

Spokane - Beverlee Dahmen, age 96, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 14, 2025. She was born January 14, 1929, in Spokane, WA, to Charles and Ruth Plowman of LaCrosse, WA. She attended LaCrosse High School excelling academically and athletically named "Female Athlete of the Year" her senior year; she continued playing basketball in Spokane after she moved there not long after graduation.

Beverlee loved people. Her kitchen was a favorite gathering place for relatives, friends, neighbors, and newcomers as she welcomed everyone with a smile, dry wit, and homemade food. She took joy in building genuine relationships and giving of herself to others. One of her favorite quotes was "What we do for ourselves dies with us; what we do for others remains immortal" (Albert Pike). She was a Shadle Park H.S. fan and attended the girls' volleyball and basketball games and was a Zags fan for decades.

Always staying active, she volunteered for Care Cars, driving those who needed transportation and was often awarded "Volunteer of the Month". Beverlee also enjoyed going to her aerobics class for over twenty years, often gathering with the girls afterward to chat and laugh over lunch. She could often be seen shooting baskets out on the driveway with her kids and their friends or watering the yard and waving to neighbors. Her passion was nurturing her children and watching them grow; she lived out that passion every day.

Beverlee is survived by her children: Nanette, Carol, and Patrick Dahmen; her grandchildren: Marcus Dahmen, Callie (Ken) Houck, Logan (Felisha) Harrington, Landon Harrington; and her great granddaughter Scarlett. She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years Roy Dahmen, and her first-born son, Kim Dahmen (survived by his wife Liza Brice-Dahmen).

Our heartfelt thanks to Sophie's Care Family Adult Home, who provided compassion, safety, patient integrity and comfort during her last few years. We are forever grateful.

A celebration of life is TBD. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Union Gospel Mission of Spokane.

My condolences to all of the Dahmen family, so Sorry to hear about Bev, it´s heartbreaking, she was such a kind & lovely lady with a heart of gold. When we came over to USA from England to visit my Sister Liza & my Brother-in-law Kim, we stayed over at Bev & Roy´s house & she made us feel so welcome & we had so much fun, she was so funny. Everytime we met she had a lovely smile on her face she was a very special lady. Both Bev & Roy have raised such a beautiful family, she will always have a special place in my heart Xx

Our condolences to Dahmen family. Ms. Beverlee, a cherished resident of Sophie´s Care, lit up the house with laughter, kindness, and wisdom. Her warm spirit and generous heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved her family very much, and the joy she found in them will be remembered, watching movies, basketball and football games and sitting out at the deck with family and friends.

It was absolutely a joy to take care of her, and she will be deeply missed by the Sophie´s Care family and all who knew her.

Condolences to the family. Beverley was a distant cousin thru her father's side. Charles Plowman was a half-brither to my grandfather, Gilbert Ward Pierce.

Love and miss you, mom. You and Dad were the best parents anyone could ever hope to have. What you gave us resonates in who I am as a parent, a teacher, a human being. We were raised by the most patient, supportive, nurturing, strong, and loving person we have ever known. Good and faithful servant of God, you are home. We'll take it from here, Mom.

To the entire Dahmen family my condolences on the passing of Bev. I miss Bev more than you will ever know. I´m glad I got to visit her the week before she passed as we had a great conversation and I will never forget her telling me she loved me from the day my mom and dad brought me home from the hospital, that she was so glad my mom and dad adopted me and she was proud to be my aunt. She said some things that made me laugh out loud and it was hard to leave because I knew she wasn´t feeling well and knew it was probably the last time I would see her. I will cherish that visit forever and glad I held my tears back til I left. She was like a second mom to me especially when my mom, dad, and husband, passed away. She called me a lot to check on me after loosing my loved ones. We shared a lot of similar experiences that we could talk about and relate too and she would always tell me she loved me before saying goodbye. She left those of us on earth wishing she were still here to laugh with, talk to, watch zags games with, and to discuss life´s good and bad aspects, but boy did heaven gain an angel and I´m glad she no longer has to suffer or not feel well. Bev was the entire package- sweet, tough, smart, beautiful, fun, and a good cook as all the plowman girls were good cooks. I enjoyed making many things for her over the years and she was always so complimentary. She always enjoyed the things I made. She also loved my dog cooper but was afraid to tell me when he tripped her and caused her to fall. I still feel horrible about that.
I applaud you for working together as a family to make sure your mom was well taken care of during these last few difficult years of her life and made sure she was happy . I´m glad Bev introduced her co-worker Nancy to me as we have become friends and as Nancy said "we are all blessed to have had Bev in our lives for however long or short that may have been". I was blessed with 62 wonderful years to be Bev´s niece. I hope time heals the void we will feel without her, but relish the lasting memories she has given us. I know she is happy to be back with her family that passed before her but has left beautiful memories for those of us left here on earth. She was so proud of all her kids, grandkids and so excited to be a great grandma. Take care of each other and god bless you all. May Bev rest in eternal peace. Love you guys!
Sincerely- Robin Madison Yewcic, Josh, and cooper the dog which Bev thought was the cutest dog ever.
