Beverly L. Baxter

Beverly L. Baxter, age 88, of Hillsdale, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at her home. She was born on October 21, 1937, in Waldron, to Hubert and Isabell (Bump) Flowers. She married Joseph W. Baxter on October 22, 1955, and he preceded her in death on November 21, 1998.
Bev attended Waldron High School before going on to work at Fayette Tubular for 20 years and later worked in the kitchen at the Senior Center. She was a volunteer at Salvation Army for many years and was also part of a women's bible study group through the Salvation Army. She was an active member at Hillsdale United Brethren Church and later at Current Church in Hillsdale. Bev adored her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and would spend as much time with them as possible.
Bev is survived by four children, Tina (Eugene) Hinkle, Tamera (Don) Fitch, Terry Baxter, and Joseph Baxter; twelve grandchildren, Jodie Brook, Mickie Lear, Preston Hinkle, Brandy Hough, Johnathan Fitch, Misty Williams, Angela Thompson, Mandy Milbourne, Andrea Bolenbaugh, Jessica Cook, Cody Baxter, and Danielle Baxter; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Jean Ankney, Phyllis Koontz, Annabell (Dick) Murphy, Barbara Richardson, and Herb (Penny) Flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 43 years, Joseph; a grandson, Joey Baxter; and two sisters, Nancy Fuller and Betty Wright.
A funeral service for Beverly Baxter will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025, at 1 PM at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Dorothy Hartzell officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. A private family interment will take place at Locust Corner Cemetery at a later date.
