Age 89, passed away peacefully at Lakewood Nursing Home in Plainfield with her loving family by her side. Born and raised in Joliet and was a lifelong area resident. Devout member of St. Anthony Church, Joliet. Jean was very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will forever be remembered for her love of the holidays, especially Christmas.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eleftherios "Ted" Bellos (1999); her parents, Salvatore and Carmella (nee Morocco) Gentile; three sisters, Carmella Stimac, Mary Hodock, and Betty Vonch; three brothers, Joseph, Junior and Frank Gentile; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Survived by her loving son, Teddy (Marilyn) Bellos; three adored grandchildren, Mary Bellos, Emily (Kenny) Crockett, and Tony Bellos; two great grandchildren, Emelia, and Sofia Crockett; one sister, Rose McGuire; her dear friend, John Reicher; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jeans family would like to thank Christine, her nurse, Ray, her social worker, Melissa, her music therapist, and Devon, her CNA all from hospice, the entire staff at Lakewood Nursing Home, especially Elvis, Mathias, Martin, and Renee who took exceptional care of her for the past three years, and has shown her family so much love. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Jeans name would be greatly appreciated.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at St. Dennis Church 1214 S. Hamilton St. Lockport, IL 60441 from 10:00am until time of Mass of Christian Burial 11:00am. Interment immediately following Mass at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Romeoville, IL.
