I first meet Bev when MNB was being. I had met Tom Brosh years before when he had the Happy Hiker shop in Gatlinburg. I was also aware of his work with the Bear Rescue Center. They both became very good friends to me.
The thing I remember most about Bev was her smile. No matter what the day brought, she could always bighten it with that smile.
Bev was very quiet and very efficient in her work. She always had all the information that was needed easily within her reach at any time. She was a very loyal person and if anything was said in confidence you could be assured that she would keep it confident. She was so helpful to everyone. She was funny and could lighten up any otherwise tense situations. She was just fun to be around.
Bev loved Tom and he was absolutely crazy about her. I saw and witnessed that when Tom was hospitalized with what was thought to be a gigantic tumor. Tom was in terrible pain and Bev felt his pain when she was in great fear of losing him. I was at the hospital with them before the surgery, and during and after the surgery. We shared some very personal conversations in the evenings when I sat with them. They were very concerned for each other. They just loved each other so deeply. I think of them ofter. I certainly miss my good friends, especially Bev. I know God is well pleased to have their company.
