Beverly Carlecia Jones Bryson of Tuckasegee, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, October 22, 2023, surrounded by her family and friends. Born on January 24, 1972, to the late Samuel Jones, Sr. and Selma Jean Middleton Jones, she was a native and lifelong resident of Jackson County. Beverly was also preceded in death by her father and mother in-law, Doug Bryson and Opal Lee Mills Bryson.
Beverly was an employee of Western Carolina University. She enjoyed camping and writing poetry. The thing that brought her the most and greatest happiness was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchilden. Beverly was a member of Cedar Baptist Church in Tuckasegee, NC.
Beverly is survived by her husband of thirty-five years, Kenneth Bryson; her children, Justin Bryson, Joey (Kaitlyn) Bryson, Chris (April) Bryson, all of Tuckasegee, and Steven (Samantha) Bryson of Whittier; grandchildren, Majestic, Colby, Carlie, Nathanyl, Jedidiah, Weston, Raelynn, Everett, Piper, and Blakelynn. Also surviving are her siblings; Sammy (Dianna) Jones of Cowpens, SC, Dianne (Doug) Mathis, and James (Delores) Jones, both of Tuckasegee, Karen Gibbons of Cameron, Pat (Charlie) Mathis of Cullowhee, Judy (Lionel) Parris of Sylva, and Kim (Scott) Henry of Tuckasegee. Many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly, also survive.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2023, in the chapel of Appalachian Funeral Services with the Rev. Eugene Crawford officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 prior to the service, at the funeral home.
