Beverly Cannon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barton Family Funeral Service of Edmonds on Jan. 28, 2026.
Beverly Ann Holt Cannon, born October 1, 1941 in Detroit, Michigan passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, after a 21 year battle with Parkinson's. She was also a 28 year cancer survivor. As she always stated: "It is what it is…you just need to believe in God and go with the flow".

She was the daughter of Walter H. Holt and Elizabeth (Betty) Ryder Holt.

She grew up in Detroit and moved to Lake Oswego, Oregon around 1954 where she graduated from Lake Oswego High School in 1959. After graduating, she went to work at Meier and Frank in Portland where she met her husband who worked there also. She married Gordon Earl Cannon on July 14, 1961 at Savage Memorial Presbyterian Church. Reverend Arthur Schwabe performed the wedding ceremony.

They resided in Portland, Oregon for eight years before finding a lifetime home in Woodinville, Washington in 1969. Together, they shared more than 63 years of a loving partnership raising 3 children. She enjoyed being the mother of David, Lisa, and Sean. She was also the proud grandmother to Valerie, Matthew, Isabella, Tomasena and later, great grandmother to Emersyn.

She enjoyed her family and friends. Beverly took joy in organizing, decorating, and celebrating family events and always put her heart into it. She also enjoyed traveling to: Wash, D.C. to the Wall, Dallas, Texas for the Mary Kay Convention, Cancun, Ocean Shores, Washington where we had a vacation home, camping in our Ford camper and later, Alumna Motor home, and family reunions she cherished so much.

Beverly retired from Sears after 25 years at the Redmond, Wash store. She was a member of the Woodinville Methodist Church for 42 years. She also enjoyed meeting clients as a Mary Kay Representative.

Deceased relatives include Walter Holt, Elizabeth Ryder Holt, Leanne Holt Samples, Maynard Cannon, Violet Lake Cannon, and son, David Jeffrey Cannon.

She is survived by brother Dayton, sister Colene, grandchildren Valerie, Matthew, Isabella, Tomasena, and great granddaughter Emersyn. Also included are brother in laws Lawrence, Dale, Merle, William, and Ronald along with sister in laws Shirley, Karen, Judy, and Anna. Included are several nephews and nieces: Michelle, Kimberly, Michael, Kathryn, Kevin, Deborah, Danny, Travis, Austin, Joe, Jaron, Alyssa, Julie, and Michael.

Rest in Peace my sweetie pie,
Gordy
