Beverly E. “Bev” Clapper, 83, of Blue Rock, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at Highland Oaks Care Center in McConnelsville.
Bev was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on November 21, 1941, the daughter of Frederick J. and Velma (Spooner) Long. She worked as a keypunch operator for the Raytheon Company in Boston and later for Essex Wire in Zanesville until her retirement. Bev was a member of Ark Spring Baptist Church and attended Duncan Falls Baptist Church. In her younger years, she was active in the Girl Scouts, and throughout her life she enjoyed traveling and spending time bowling.
She is survived by her children, Roy Dale Clapper of Idaho and Judy Ann Clapper of Columbus; her sister, Darlene (Duane) Scruton of Massachusetts; as well as her nieces and nephews.
Bev was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Dale Clapper, who passed away on December 25, 2024 and her brother, Frederick J. Long of Florida
Calling hours will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Gerry Wade officiating. Bev will be laid to rest beside her husband in Ark Spring Cemetery.
