Beverly M. Coleman, 86, of Mishawaka, Indiana and Saint Cloud, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025, surrounded by the love and prayers of her devoted family.
Born on April 28, 1939, in Hartford, Wisconsin, Beverly was the daughter of Edgar and Viola (Gimmel) Wendorf. She was raised in a close-knit, hardworking family where strong values of faith, kindness, and service to others were deeply rooted principles she would carry with her throughout her life. From the beginning, Beverly had a nurturing spirit and a quiet strength that would become the foundation of her life and her family.
In 1957, Beverly was introduced to a young man named Harold L. Coleman through a mutual friend. It was a meeting that changed both of their lives forever. They married on August 19 of that same year, beginning a remarkable journey of love and partnership that would span 68 years. Their marriage was built on trust, faith, laughter, and an unbreakable bond. Together, they built not only a family, but a legacy of love, support, and devotion that touched everyone who knew them.
Beverly was the heart of her home and the center of her family's world. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she poured her entire being into caring for others. As a homemaker, she created a warm and welcoming household filled with love, laughter, and the smell of home-cooked meals. Her hands were rarely idle, whether she was sewing clothing and quilts for her family, preparing a holiday meal, or lovingly caring for a sick child or grandchild.
She had a special gift for making everyone feel valued and loved. Family was always her highest priority, and she took genuine joy in being a mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren especially brought a twinkle to her eye and a smile to her face. She delighted in playing games with them, listening to their stories, and offering them her endless encouragement and affection. Her laugh was contagious, and her hugs could heal the heaviest of hearts.
Beyond her own family, Beverly had a heart that reached outward to others. She had an unshakable belief in helping people, whether they were friends, neighbors, or complete strangers. If someone was in need, Beverly would be the first to offer a meal, a ride, a word of comfort, or simply a listening ear. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she gave not out of obligation, but out of genuine love. She was known for saying, "Help someone, even if you don't know them. You never know the difference you might make." That simple but profound philosophy guided her life and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Beverly and Harold were active and faithful members of Michiana Community Church of God in Granger, Indiana, where they found deep fellowship and community. Beverly's faith in God was steadfast, and she lived it every day and not through words alone, but through her actions. She embodied the virtues of patience, humility, and selflessness, and she encouraged others to lean on their faith during life's most difficult moments. Even after moving to Saint Cloud, Beverly carried the spirit of her church with her wherever she went.
She will be remembered as a woman of deep compassion, enduring strength, and limitless love. She was a quiet light in the lives of those she touched; steady, kind, and dependable. She was the person everyone could count on, the one who remembered birthdays, the one who knew just what to say when someone was hurting, the one who showed up without being asked.
Beverly M. Coleman will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her love, faith, and gentle spirit will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know her. She gave her family the greatest gift of all, herself. And for that, we will forever be grateful.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Viola Wendorf; her two brothers, Edgar Wendorf Jr. and Earl Raymond Wendorf; and her beloved daughters, Sheila Ann Coleman and Cheryl Jo Coleman, whose memories she carried with her every day.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Harold L. Coleman, who was her greatest companion and dearest friend. She is also survived by her two sons, Harold R. Coleman and Howard N. Coleman; six cherished grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life. Her love for them knew no limits, and her presence in their lives was a gift beyond measure.
A visitation to celebrate Beverly's life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy.,
