Beverly A. (Dickey) Costello

Watertown - Mrs. Beverly A. (Dickey) Costello died Thursday, February 1, 2024 in Newton-Wellesley Hospital after a long illness. She was 74. 

Beverly was born January 24, 1950 in Milton a daughter of the late Frank S. and Helen (Szlekis)Dickey. A graduate of Watertown High School she was a state champion baton twirler. She met Francis J. 'Frank' Costello and they later married August 3, 1991 in Saint Jude's Church in Waltham. 

Beverly worked many years as a stress management instructor and later as a revenue collector for the MBTA before retiring. 

She enjoyed her daily soap opera, The Young and The Restless, knitting, flowers and gardening and adored her grandchildren. 

In addition to her husband, Francis J. 'Frank' Costello, she leaves her daughter, Kimberly Ann Hale (Anthony Baker) of Berlin; her grandchildren, Daniel F. DeGiso (Bree DeGiso), Alicia Ann DeGiso (Matthew Hill) and Matthew M. Hale (Ariana Montonari); her great-grandchild, Daniel Restrepo; her in-laws, Doris Dickey of Illinois, Thomas R. Costello (late Mary) of Mashpee and Edward L. Costello (Nancy) of New Bedford; many nieces & nephews. Also survived by her favorite four legged companion, Andre. She was a sister of the late Francis S. 'Frank' Dickey Jr., Robert Dickey (late Ginger) and David Dickey. 

Family and friends will honor and remember Beverly’s life by gathering for calling hours in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11th from 1 to 4 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Monday morning, FEBRUARY 12th before leaving in procession to Saint Jude’s Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
