Beverly A. (Schlatter) Dickinson passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024, with family members by her side, at the age of 89.
She was born on May 23, 1934, to Floyd and Clara (Hayley) Schlatter in Bay City MI. She was raised in Bay City, where she graduated from Bay City Central High School and went on to graduate from Michigan State University. She was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and while at MSU, she met Bruce Dickinson, whom she married on June 25, 1955. Bev resided in Lansing after marriage, and worked in a variety of organizations, including John Hancock Insurance and Michigan Manufacturers Association, from where she retired, and moved with Bruce to Bellaire.
Bev was active in many organizations after her retirement, including the Alden High Tea for Breast Cancer, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, substitute teaching, the Bellaire Lioness Club and she attended the Church In the Hills. Bev enjoyed spending time with her friends and family on Intermediate Lake and travelling down to Gulf Shores, gardening her roses, and reading.
Surviving are her husband of 69 years, Bruce of Bellaire, MI, daughter Amy (Darrell) Christie of Bellaire, MI, grandchildren Emily and Thomas Christie of Bellaire, son Mark Dickinson, grandchildren Nicole, Dalton, Hayley, and Mark Jr. of Florida and two great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and other extended family members and close friends.
The family is planning a memorial at a later date in Bellaire.
