Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Passed away surrounded by her family after bravely fighting for over a year to recover from a devastating stroke. Bev was born in her grandmother's house in Lead, SD. She moved with her mother, brother and sisters to Minnesota when she was 9 years old. When she was not spending time with her 11 grandchildren, Bev "Torpedo" enjoyed watching "her" ball team and going to their tournaments. She loved to dance, listen to live bands, and drink Cuervo Gold. She was Mama or Grandma to most she knew and was always there with a hug, an ear to listen, shoulder to cry on, a meal or place to lay your head. Special thanks to the select staff who cared at Birchwood and Accent Care Hospice who comforted us all in her final days.
Preceded in death by her son, Joseph; mother, Dolores Mulcahy; brother, David VerDouw; sister Paula Rude; and her one true love, Gerald. Survived by Daughters, Rebecca Cortez (Brian) and Elizabeth; Grandchildren, Brandon (Anna), Brian Cortez Jr., Nathaniel (Monica), Justin Cortez (Emelia), Rhiannon (Christopher), Savannah (Brian), Amanda Cortez (Isaac), Lindsay Cortez, Nicholas, Talon and Tristan.
