Beverly Louise Downs (1953–2026)
Beverly Louise Downs, a woman of sharp wit and a heart of gold, passed away February 20, 2026 at the age of 72. A lifelong resident of the Kingston and Circleville area, Beverly was known for her honesty—you never had to wonder what she was thinking, because she was more than happy to tell you.
A 1971 graduate of Zane Trace High School, Beverly went on to a long career at General Electric, from which she eventually retired. Outside of work, she found freedom on the back of a motorcycle and spent many years as a dedicated member of the Amvets Post 2256, The Eagles, and The VFW.
Beverly is finally reunited with the love of her life of 35 years, Rick E. Davis. She was also preceded in death by her parents, George "Bill" and Louise Smith, and her sister, Bonnie Downs.
She leaves behind a family she loved fiercely: her children, Michele R. Smith and Heath A. Downs; her sister, Barbara (Thomas) Rittenhouse; and her brother-in-law, Ralph G. Downs. Her legacy lives on through her grandsons—Christopher, Robert (Cassaundra), Jeffrey James, Jonathon David, Jonathon Dale, and Ryan—as well as her many great-grandchildren. Nephews Scott (Crystal) Rittenhouse, Glenn Downs and niece Angie (Duane) Hartley.
Beverly’s presence will be deeply missed, especially by her loyal companion, her dog Cain. She was one-of-a-kind, and the world will be a little quieter without her.
Cremation has been observed.
