BEVERLY ELLIS

Beverly Louise Ellis, 71, of Lakeland, Florida and Negaunee, Michigan, a devoted servant of Jesus Christ, entered into the presence of the Lord on Thursday Morning, January 29th 2026 at the Lakeland Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Lakeland, Florida.

Beverly was born July 22, 1954 in Ishpeming Michigan to Gordon S. and Clara E Jewell. She was a graduate of Negaunee High School, Class of 1972. She worked at the Negaunee Bank while living with her parents in Negaunee and was a member of the Mitchell United Methodist Church, a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir and the "New Creation" praise team. Beverly was also a member of the Lake Gibson Global Methodist church in Lakeland and was the lead vocalist of the praise team.

In 1980, Beverly married Jay Ellis and they moved to Florida. Every year following their move to Florida, they spent their summers vacationing in Negaunee. Following Jay's retirement in 2017, they spent their summers living in Beverly's childhood home in Negaunee.

Surviving is her husband of 45 years, Jay Ellis; brother-in-law, Pat Ellis; two sister-in-law's, Lois Ellis and Sue (Ellis) Garrett; three nephews: Bradley MacLachlan, David MacLachlan and Brian (Jackie) Ellis; three nieces: Dawn Holm, Jeri Lynn (Brian Muladore) and Shanon Ellis, and numerous great nephews and nieces, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon (2006) and Clara Jewell (2011); sister, Sandra Machlachlan (2010); father-in-law, Richard Ellis (2008); mother-in-law, Nancy Ellis (2010); brother-in-law, Paul Ellis (2023); brother-in-law, Jerry Garrett (2023); sister-in-law Charlene Ellis (2020); and one niece: Natalie Ellis (2001).

Beverly's Interment will occur this summer on her family lot at the Negaunee cemetery.
