Beverly Joan Howard Fix (88) of
Kissimmee, Florida, passed away on January 12, 2026 surrounded and embraced by her loving family.
She was born in
Ewing, NE on January 17, 1938 to Glen and Ruby (Olds) Howard. Beverly was the 10th of 11 children. She was raised in
Lincoln, NE.
She worked many jobs over the years, but by far the most important was her role as wife, mother, and Nana. She was a constant supporter of her husband Pastor Harry Fix of Trinity Baptist Church West Palm Beach, FL.
She was a truly wonderful person. She treated everyone she met as a beloved friend.
She is survived by her three Children: Harry Fix Jr. (Gwen), Christoper Fix (Traci), and Jennifer Boyd (J. Stephen). She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren so far. She was Nana to Jonathan, Rachel (Luis), Joshua (Vanessa), Jeremiah, Naomi, Jeffrey, Virginia, Nathanael, Noah, Micah, Jesse, and Jared; and Bisabuela to Ezekiel, Daniel, Isabela, and Natalia.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents as well as all of her siblings: Nathalee Howard, Don Howard, Rita Howard, Betty Krogh, Patricia Luttrell, Douglas Howard, Bonnie Stapert, Colleen Howard, Winifred Lira, and Marceline Teeters.
For Beverly her family was her world. She was ever present in their lives. She shared with them her passion for botany, cooking, history, and so much more. Her house was a home for reunions, holidays, Nerf Wars, and precious moments. As matriarch she brought the family together in good and bad times. She led by example. She was a devoted Christian who was saved in her adulthood thanks to the persistence of caring neighbors. She later became a pastor's wife. From that point on she led others to Christ, occationally dragging her grandchildren to church with her. Each stranger she met she treated as a life long friend, inquiring about their life their family, and playfully teasing them. She had a sharp mind to the very end, to the shock of some and to the horror of others. She had a vivid memory to go with it. She made it a habit to share moments with all of her descendants, often as unwitting accomplices. Her home was a beautiful garden thanks in part to the family members she enlisted.
Each moment with her was special. She knew just how to encourage and support her family. She gave cheerful words, playful teasing, and the best hugs. She was always willing to speak her mind. She stood up for what she believed in, and passed that courage on to her dependents. She was proud of her American roots. From ancestors aboard the Mayflower to frontiersmen of the Great Plains. She passed that love of history on, and was proud to be an American. She was even prouder to get to live right next door to her great grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly.
Though we know she is in Heaven united again with her beloved Husband, her passing has left a great hole in our hearts. Until we meet again we will look back at her wisdom, her virtues, and her precious memories.
