OTTAWA – Beverly A. Gustwiller, 73, of Ottawa, passed away at 7:50 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2023 at The Meadows of Ottawa surrounded by family. She was born November 19, 1949 in Huntington, WV to the late Jack C. and Phyllis "Joni" (Bailey) Beckett. On August 19, 1969, she married Thomas Gustwiller, who survives in Ottawa.
Other survivors include four children: Teresa (Denny) Marsh of Ottawa, Laura (Logan) Warner of Bellbrook, Brian (Nicole) Gustwiller of Glandorf and Steve (Jill) Gustwiller of Omaha, NE; eleven grandchildren: Connor Marsh, Kylee, Brooke and Landon Warner, Alex, Erin, Megan, Trevor and Zack Gustwiller, Audrey and Monica Gustwiller; two sisters: Peg (Ron) Kruse of Ottawa and Patti Becket-Leslie of Findlay; two brothers: John "Mike" (Barbara) Beckett of Austin, TX and Phillip "Dan" (Jennifer) Beckett of Findlay; and a sister-in-law, Marlene Beckett of Ottawa.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers: William "Bill" Beckett, Dave Beckett and Mark Beckett; and a sister, Sally Beckett.
Beverly retired as one of the owners of Gustwiller's Clothing Store, Ottawa, where she started the ladies clothing line in 1979. She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa and ran the Card Marathon for the church. She was also a member of Mother's Club, Study Club, former YMCA board member and was a Master Gardener. Bev was very active in her community as she was also a former soccer coach and Girl and Cub Scout leader. She loved her Ottawa-Glandorf Titans. Bev enjoyed playing bridge, mahjong, pickleball and tennis. She dearly loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ottawa with Fr. Scott Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 - 8 p.m. on Thursday, where a scripture service will be held at 7:50 p.m. at Love Funeral Home, Ottawa. Additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Sts. Peter and Paul Church Building Fund.
