BEVERLY HALE 06/06/1933 - 12/02/2025 Beverly Joan (Messerschmidt) Hale, 92, of New Ulm died Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm. Funeral service were 11:30 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2025, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Burial followed in New Ulm City Cemetery, Soldier's Rest section. Visitation was from 4 - 7 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025, at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home - North Chapel in New Ulm. Visitation continued from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Bev is survived by her six children, Diana (Steve) Burt of New Ulm, Linda Nachreiner (special friend, John Moritz) of Springfield, Thomas (LeAnn) Hale of Sleepy Eye, Sandra (David) Burger of Lafayette, Timothy Hale of North Mankato, Bradley Hale (Joyce Johnson) of New Ulm; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Nancy Diederich of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Harvey Hale; her parents; grandson, Adam Burger; son-in-law, Daniel Nachreiner; nine siblings; and many, many feline friends. Beverly Joan Messerschmidt was born June 6, 1933, to Paul and Anna Marie (Stage) Messerschmidt at their family home in Sleepy Eye. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye and graduated from Sleepy Eye High School in 1951. On November 30, 1953, Bev was united in marriage to Harvey David Hale. Over the following 10 years, their union was blessed with six children. After their children had grown, the couple relocated to New Ulm. Bev dedicated her life to caring for her children and, later, her grandchildren. She provided for her family by tending to her large garden and canning or freezing the produce. Bev was known as an excellent cook, never letting anyone go hungry. Outside of motherhood, Bev led an active life. In her early years, she worked at Del Monte and City Café. Later in life, she worked seasonally at AUI, raised cucumbers for Gedney, and volunteered at Treasure Haus. In her free time, Bev enjoyed Scrabble on Wednesdays at the Senior Center, Sunday brunch after church, collecting trinkets from her many sister trips, puzzles, card games, German dice, reading magazines, and spending time outside whenever the weather allowed. Among her greatest memories was meeting Roy Rogers on her sister trips, all of her cats through her lifetime - especially being able to have with her in assisted living, and the countless activities she attended for her children and grandchildren. Bev will be dearly missed by those that knew her. Blessed be her memory. And, as Bev always said, "don't forget, I love you!" The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm for the wonderful care she received the past nine years.
