Beverly Hildner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Graham Funeral Home - Rye on Sep. 17, 2024.
Beverly passed away peacefully in her sleep during the night of September 15, after a long illness. Beverly was the daughter of Lillian and Frederich Hagle of Rye. Her sister Sandy Hughes (Don deceased) lives in Dahlonega, Georgia. Beverly was predeceased by her sister Linda Ware (Rick) of Cumming, GA
Beverly was born and raised in Rye. She was proud of the fact, that as a child, she roller skated up and down Purhase street. She graduated from Rye High School. It was there she met her future husband. She was a sophomore and Chuck was a senior who had just transferred from Chicago. She must have liked the midwestern twang. They were married sixty-four years and had three sons and eight grand children, comprised of seven boys and one girl. Beverly's sons are Charles III (Sheryl), Steven (Diane) and Theodore. Charles's III sons are Charles IV (Laura) and Justin. Steven's childen are Steven (Emma), Dean (Julia), and Jacqueline. Theodore's sons are Burke, Chad, and George. Bev couldn't spoil them enough.
Beverly came from a long line of Hagels, five uncles and two aunts, who all lived in Rye or Harrison. Thsey were instrumental in her formative years. Her uncle Tommy, AKA "Sarge", was an owner of the Rye liquor store and her uncle Bill was the Chief of Police. As a result, Beverly knew no shortage of local gossip. Her husband once asked, "Is there anyone in Rye that your don't know?"
She was an avid reader and loved a good spy novel. She was also an accomplished artist. Her instructor at the Silvermine Art Center in New Canaan called her a "colorist". Beverly will be remembered by her hundreds of paintings that now adorn her home and those of her children. She exhibited her art at the Rye Library for a month. Afterward Beverly called it a great success because she sold enough paintings to pay for the cost of the frames.
Beverly loved to travel and play tennis at The Apawamis Club. She was a member for forty six years. Nothing made her happier than blasting her patented forhand past her opponent. She expecally reminisced on her seventieth surprise birthday party at Apawamis where she was blindsided by one-hundred friends in the club's ballroom.
Beverly had an active business career as a top Rye real estate broker for over 35 years with Merritt Associates. She had an eye for buying houses and ended up moving her family into five different homes in Rye. Beverly loved to take cooking classes and create dishes and wonderful meals for her family. She also loved to invite her friends to dinner parties. Her favorites were the Kentucky Derby and the Super bowl. Further, she was active in numerous womens' and prayer groups. Sadly, Beverly will be missed by all those who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held at Rye Presbyterian Church on Saturday October 5, 2024 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to Rye Presbyterian Church.

Beverly was the Head Drum Majorette & I can see her now, baton in hand, leading the RH Band onto the field & down Milton Rd. after our many wins. Bev was a trooper then as she was throughout her entire life.
We all loved her giggle!!
RIP you deserve all that Heaven has to offer.
