Beverly Anne (Fels) Kiekhaefer, age 85, of Wayside, was called to her eternal home on February 3, 2023.
Bev was born on May 13, 1937, to the late Lee and Adeline (Schultz) Fels. She was baptized on May 30, 1937, and confirmed March 18, 1951. Her chosen Bible verse was Phil. 4 v. 13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".
She married Ron, the love of her life, on June 4, 1960, at Zion Lutheran Church of Wayside. Bev, a loving wife and mother, is survived by her husband Ron, son Russ and Tracy of Kingman, AZ; daughters Sue and Al Kulich of Plover, WI; Kay and Leo Peck of Napa, CA and Kate of Oaxaca City, Mexico; grandchildren Becca, Kate and Ally Kiekhaefer, Emily (Kulich) and Jordan Latz, Caleb Kulich, Casey and Curtis Peck, Acalli and Ileana del Angel Kiekhaefer; and great grandchildren Kennedy & Milo Latz.
Bev is also survived by brothers Lee (Neva) Fels, Lon (Lori) Fels, Dan Fels and sister Karen (Dan) Smet; sisters-in-laws, Carol (Gary) Matuszak, and Dianne Opper and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Nancy, parents Lee and Adeline Fels, father and mother-in-law Armin and Elsie Kiekhaefer, brother Bruce Fels and brother-in-law Robert Opper.
Bev graduated from East De Pere High in 1955 and was employed at Smith, Smith & Roles in De Pere until Ron was called into the US Army in 1961. They then moved to Washington state during the Berlin Crisis and returned to Wisconsin in 1962. Bev and Ron also opened their hearts and home to 32 foster children over the years. After her children were in school, Bev was employed at Kasson Cheese from 1979 to 1989. She then worked at Associated Bank in De Pere until her retirement in 2002.
In 1975, Bev was awarded the Outstanding Homemaker Award of Brown County, was a past member of the Wayside Rough Riders and in 1998, she joined and walked in a 185-mile Wagon Train from Prairie du Chien to Green Bay to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the State of Wisconsin. Through the years, Bev enjoyed family camping trips, bowling, golfing, playing cards with their friends, country dancing with Ron, spending time with her family and many trips throughout the United States and Zipolite, Mexico.
Greetings of friends and relatives will be held at Zion Lutheran Wayside, 8378 County Road W, Wayside from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kyle Wangelin officiating. Please go to www.nickelfh.com to leave online condolences to the family.
