Memorial Oaks ChapelBeverly A. Leyrer, 86 of Brenham, passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025 in Temple, TX.
Beverly was born February 27, 1939 in Dallas, TX to Robert and Thelma Chenault Shugart.
On October 12, 1974 she married Dennis Leyrer in Rowlett, TX.
Beverly and Dennis shared a love for travel, exploring numerous destinations together throughout the years, with Hawaii being her favorite. She had a passion for crafting, often adding her unique touch to hats and jackets. Beverly also enjoyed reading, crocheting, and creating beautifully decorative wreaths. In the earlier years, she and Dennis tended to a vegetable garden, which eventually blossomed into a vibrant flower garden. Gardenias, with their sweet fragrance, held a special place in her heart. Beverly's love for animals was evident, as she had many beloved dogs over the years.
Survivors include her husband, Dennis Leyrer; daughter and son-in-law: Charissa and Steve Fanos; brother and sister-in-law: Robert and Betty Shugart and one grandson: Alexander Fanos. Beverly is preceded by her parents and her son, William Ross Paul.
The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2025 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Pastor Mike Lindstrom officiating. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:00 a.m. until service time.
Memorials may be given to Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 400 E Sayles St, Brenham, TX 77833.
