Beverly Joyce Motes

Beverly Joyce Motes, 70, of Fitzgerald, died Friday, March 6, 2026, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held 11AM, Monday, March 9, 2026, at the Ocilla Church of God with the Rev. Josh Bowles officiating. The family will greet friends from 10 AM until the service hour at the church. Interment will be private.

Mrs. Motes was born May 25, 1955, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Raymond Lee & Vera Dean McDonald Smith. She worked in the packing department at Fitzgerald Underwear and in the sanitation department at the Delco Remy Company for several years. Mrs. Motes enjoyed reading and volunteering her time at her church. She was a member of the Ocilla Church of God.

She is survived by her children: Shelly Maybie, Michael Motes and Eric Motes all of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Matthew Hall, Kaylee Waller, Joseph Motes, Colt Maybie, Kaedyn Maybie and Cameron Motes; great grandchildren: Khrysee Hall, Leland Waller, Embie Hall and Scarlett Mattos; and a brother, Danny Smith of Valdosta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Motes.
