Beverly Osheim Obituary
RAPID CITY – Beverly J. Osheim, 93, died Friday, January 30, 2026.
Beverly was born on October 4, 1932, in Loomis, S.D., to Percy and Cheryl (Walker) Bock. Her family lived in the Mitchell area before moving to Vancouver, Wash. In 1944, they relocated to Rapid City, where Bev graduated from Rapid City High School.
She went on to pursue a career in nursing, earning her Registered Nursing degree from St. John's McNamara School of Nursing. Beverly practiced as a registered nurse for more than 30 years. She was employed at St. John's Hospital, Bennett Clarkson Hospital, and later served for five years as Dr. Robert Johnson's office nurse.
On December 14, 1953, she married O.M. "Ozzie" Osheim at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rapid City. She was a proud mother to three daughters, Gayle, Janice and Vicki.
Following her retirement from nursing, she continued her dedication to serving families by working at Osheim-Catron Funeral Home for many years.
Beverly was active alongside her husband, Ozzie, in numerous community affairs. In 2014, the couple was honored as Volunteers of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce.
She is survived by her husband, Ozzie Osheim; daughters, Gayle (John) Petersen; Janice (Mike) Osheim-Kubal; son-in-law, Michael McDowell; her granddaughter, Caitlin (Dan) Farrington, and great-grandson, Dylan Ozzie Farrington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; her daughter, Vicki McDowell; and her grandson, Andrew Ozzie McDowell.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Osheim & Schmidt Funeral Home. Nursing Honors will be presented by the West River Nurse Honor Guard at 6 p.m.
Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at Calvary Lutheran Church with Pastor Tim O'Shields officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Beverly was always a lovely, kind woman to me, whether I was singing for a funeral or meeting somewhere in Rapid. I almost feel related to the elder Osheims as my dad, Leonard Davies worked with their business for many years. God bless you Ozzie. She was a grand human..Nonie
