Beverly Hooper Piteo, 75, of Surfside Beach, SC, passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2024.
Beverly, known and loved for her bubbly personality and friendly nature, endured many obstacles in her life but always looked ahead to a better day. Beverly worked in radio and television for many years before serving as the Membership Director for Northstone Country Club.
A graduate of Hunter Huss High School, Beverly attended Appalachian State University. Prior to relocating to the beach, Beverly was a long-time member of Davidson United Methodist Church. In her free time, Beverly enjoyed her new life at the beach, walking daily on the shore, visiting local parks, and riding her golf cart through the neighborhood. She cherished moments spent with her beach friends, YaYa girlfriends, and most of all, her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by her dear aunt Ann Franklin, sister, Sherron Marshall, brother Kemp Hooper (Jane), son Brian Willard, daughter Stacy Baker (Brian), beloved grandchildren Darcy Willard, Ethan, Blythe, and Wyatt Baker, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.
She also leaves behind honorary family members Karen Riley and Kenny Carpenter, and her cousin and forever best friend, Carolyn Deal.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Johnnie Hooper.
A celebration of Beverly's life will be held Wednesday June 26 at 2:00 pm at Davidson United Methodist Church in Davidson, North Carolina, with a reception following.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Autism Speaks in memory of Beverly Hooper Piteo.
Beverly will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her kindness and love will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
