Beverly J. Plumadore, 80, of Groton, passed away on October 20, 2025 at Cayuga Medical Center after a brief illness.
Beverly was born on July 27, 1945 in Cortland, a daughter of the late Ernest and Helen (Robison) Mattoon. A lifelong Groton resident, Beverly attended Groton Central School and was a typewriter assembler for many years at Smith Corona Marchant (SCM). She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the Post 800 American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, flowers, and dancing with her family and friends.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Rongo (Michael), of Groton; a son, Douglas Plumadore, of OK; three grandchildren: Kellie (Kait Wilcox), Nicholas, and Matthew Rongo; a great-grandson, Nicholas Rongo II; a sister, Patricia Ludlow, of Cortland; and brothers: Edwin Mattoon (Sheryl), of Lansing, Donald Mattoon, of VA, and Jeffrey Mattoon, of Candor.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Garry K. Plumadore, in 2019; a son, Gary Kenneth Plumadore, in 2015; and by her sisters, Margaret Deming and Barbara Alford.
At Beverly's request, there will be no public services. Private interment will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Groton. Arrangements are with the Shurtleff Funeral Home, and online condolences may be shared with the family at www.shurtleffservices.com.
