Beverly W. Postell (nee Walker) was born June 24,1943 to Jessie and Juanita (aka Mother Dear) Walker in Atlanta, Ga. After spending a few years in Georgia, young Beverly, along with her mother and sister relocated to Washington, D.C. Beverly attended Washington, D.C. public schools. She graduated from Margaret Murray Washington Vocational High School in1962 as a Practical Nurse.
She enjoyed working at the Washington Hospital Center for 30+ years in several positions including Practical Nurse, Operating Room Technician, Office Manager, ultimately retiring as Senior Licensed Practical Nurse. Beverly went on to work for Prince George's County Public School System as a Nurse at Thurgood Marshall Middle School and retired as a Registrar at Crossland High School in Camp Springs. Her hobbies included ceramics, drawing, oil painting, sewing, fishing, playing tennis and entertaining friends and family! Beverly also loved to travel abroad.
Beverly is preceded in death by both parents, her only sibling Jeanette Smith and nephew Andre Smith. She is remembered with love by her sons Kevin and Kenneth Postell, her daughter Karen Stroud, grandsons William Stroud Jr., Dominique Williams and Alexander Postell; her granddaughter Alexis Postell, two great-grandsons William Stroud III and Wesley Stroud, nephews Tony and Everett "Ricky" Smith and a host of friends.
