Beverly Rackley Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lynlee Mae Chapel & Event Center on Nov. 10, 2022.
Beverly Ann Rackley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was called Home to Heaven on Monday, November 7, 2022, at the age of 73. Beverly was born in Oklahoma City on February 5, 1949, the daughter of Luther Sutton and Bonnie (Creel) Sutton. Beverly attended Putnam City High School. After taking some college courses, she began a successful career in Accounting, working for the corporate offices of the Dolese Bros. Concrete Company. She retired after over 35 years of dedicated service to the company.
Beverly was a loyal, reserved, and gentle person with a sweet, loving heart. For 60-plus years, Beverly was an active member of the Friendship Chapel Assembly of God in Oklahoma City and was active in pastoral ministry for over 47 years. She loved to play the piano and sing in church, and Beverly led the church choir for most of her adult life, as well as singing with the Ladies Trio for a year. She didn't always have much to say, but when a Bible or a song book was in her hands, Beverly became a lively, inspirational pastor while preaching the Word of God.
She had many hobbies and enjoyed playing card games like Phase 10 and Rummy, watching her favorite Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel, faithfully watching (and playing along with) Wheel of Fortune each evening, and taking woman's retreats with the ladies from her church. More than anything, Beverly loved spending time with her family. She was a terrific wife, a wonderful and attentive mother to her children, and when her grandchildren came along, they were her entire world. As they grew up, Beverly and her precious grandbabies enjoyed doing arts and crafts together, and every time they came to visit "Grammy", crafts were a must. She loved to cook and was famous for her amazing fudge and party mix, and each year for Christmas, she selflessly provided thousands of bags of treats for her family, her church family, and her friends. Beverly will be fondly remembered for her warm, caring personality, her devotion to Jesus Christ and her church, and for the unconditional love she had for her family and friends. She will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, L.W. and Bonnie Sutton of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and two sisters-in-love, Kay Spargos, and Shirley Welch.
Beverly is survived by her loving spouse of 48 years, Bill Rackley of Oklahoma City; her children, one daughter, Michelle Rackley of Yukon, Oklahoma, and one son, Michael Rackley and daughter-in-love Melanie Rackley of Yukon, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Cheyenne Holliday, Joshua Holliday, Zion Rackley, and Shiloh Rackley; one sister, Barbara Russell and husband Jerry Russell of Edmond, Oklahoma, and one brother and sister-in-love, Kirby and Gail LoPresto of Oklahoma City; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
