Beverly Richard (Cook) ObituaryHUNTINGTON: Beverly A. (Cook) Richard, age 78 of Huntington, beloved wife of Marshal Richard, entered peaceful rest on Thursday, May 29, 2025 in her home surrounded by family. Born in Bridgeport on May 30, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Cecelia (Kuchar) Cook.
A graduate of Warren Harding High School, class of 1964, Beverly was a dedicated and longtime coordinator for Subway, and loved her job. She was very active and loved playing card games, bingo, and board games with friends and family, especially Risk.
Beverly loved taking trips with Marshal to their cabin in the Berkshires where family and friends would come together. If you knew the Richard's, you probably have been to the little red cabin in Sherwood Forest.
Beverly was generous and considerate to everyone. She had a sweet tooth but she loved giving out candy bags to people and would remember everybody's favorite. Each one was personalized and a kind gesture. So it seemed like she picked up grandchildren like some might stray cats. But above all else, Beverly loved her family and cherished being a grandmother. Her Hobart grandchildren were people she crossed paths with that loved her so much that they would joke that they wished she was their grandmother and she would say "oh ok" and then she'd add another person to the candy bag list for holidays.
In addition to her husband Marshal of 60 years, survivors include her loving children, Jim Richard and his wife Wendy of Shelton, Jeffry Richard of Oxford, John Richard of Waterbury, and Jennifer Emmens and her husband Gregory of Orange; brother, Richard Cook and his wife Denise of FL; brother-in-law, Henry Richard, and sister-in-law, Carol Richard; grandchildren, Lindsay Thayer and her husband Art, James Richard Jr. and his wife Anya, Kaytlyn Albert and her husband Zack, Molly Emmens, Jessica Emmens, Ben Richard, Brian Richard, Matthew Richard, Patrick Richard and Christopher Richard; great grandchildren, A.J., Colton, Rylee and Eric; Nieces and nephews, Tammy, Tina, Bryan and Richard; many cousins, especially Kathy, Kenny, Karen, and Kevin; her childhood best friend, Ginny Moses; her Subway family, feline companions, Peaches and Whiskers, as well as her honorary grandchildren and stray cats she picked up along the way.
