Mrs. Ruth Richard, 65 of Idabel Oklahoma passed away November 17th, at the Texas Heath Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in Idabel OK., to the late Mrs. Belle and Mr. J L Richard.
Ruth was a good woman that would give you anything she had. Ruth enjoyed playing Bingo when it was available. She loved going to the Casino at times and was very lucky, but her family was her world. In her spare time Ruth enjoyed doing hair and talking on the phone. She enjoyed giving rides and helping those who were less fortunate.
At the age of seventeen she met and married her ex-husband Clarence Westbrook Jr., and two daughters were born from this union. In 1988 a son was born with Mr. Charles Warhop.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Mr., and Mrs., Hattie and Gene Richard. Her Maternal grand parents Mr. and Mrs., Rose Belle and Jordan Carter, parents; Mr. and Mrs., J. L. and Belle Richard, a daughter Deloris Ann Richard, siblings; Mr. James Richard AKA LA and Mrs., Delores Richard, Mrs., Chris Ann Tucker, son-in-law Bradley L. Whitaker, Granddaughter, Heaven Renie Harris, and Grandson Lyle.
Ruth is survived by two daughters Christine (Marcell Blackwell) of Idabel, and Minnesota, Shreaca (Cameron) Lewis of Fort Worth, TX., son; Carlekus (Ker Wand) of Idabel, Ok., four Granddaughters Mi’ Kudriona t. Westbrook, Shaurice A Westbrook, Kishia Moss, Shania L. Whitfield, seven grandsons; Frederick M. Westbrook, Latrell L. Whitfield, Bla‘yne A., Childs, Delton Westbrook, Corjae R., Warhop, Carlekus R. Warhop Jr., Hesikayah M. Lewis, two great grandsons Royal, and Loyal and host of nieces nephews, and other loved ones and friends.
Ruth was a loving mother, aunt, grandmother and friend to all.
She will truly be missed and was loved by all who knew her.
Her funeral is set for 11am Saturday November 22, 2025, at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. A. W. Gulley Officiating.
Interment will follow at Williamston Cemetery
