Beverly Rogers, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on February 20, 2025, at the age of 84. Family will hold private Graveside Services at a later date. Beverly was born on December 15, 1940. She led a life marked by resilience, dedication, and a passion for learning.
Beverly's early years were shaped by challenges; at the tender age of five, she and her three sisters were placed in the Mennonite Children's Home in Kansas City, Kansas, due to their mother's illness and their father's absence following World War II. At eleven, she transitioned to foster care, where she was welcomed into the home of the Monger family in Kansas City, Missouri. These formative experiences instilled in her a depth of empathy that she carried throughout her life.
Beverly demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her education, graduating high school at just 17. Even before her graduation, she secured a secretarial position, which she held until she turned 18 and married her husband, Carl Holt. Their love blossomed when they met while Beverly was working a summer job at Montgomery Wards at the age of 16. She later married Dennis Rogers, who helped to raise the children, Cary Holt and Carlene Nelson.
Throughout her career, Beverly served as an executive secretary to the company manager at Beechcraft. This role not only honed her business acumen but also allowed her to cultivate meaningful relationships with her colleagues and act as a gracious hostess for company events. Her excellence in her work earned her the first "Right Stuff" award during her tenure at the company, a testament to her dedication and professionalism.
Beverly embraced a vibrant life of community engagement and personal interests after retiring. She proudly participated in the Diva's Book Club and the Thursday afternoon music club, reflecting her love for literature and music. Beverly was also actively involved in the business and professional women's club, serving as a role model for many. Her commitment to nurturing young talent saw her serve two years as a judge for the Junior Miss Pageant. In addition, she had the unique distinction of modeling for a hairdresser at various state competitions, showcasing her poise and elegance.
Beverly is survived by her son Cary Holt; daughter and son-in-law Carlene and Patrick Nelson; sister Sharon; and grandchildren Amber Holt, Kamee Nelson, and Belinda Nelson. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Holt, son Michael Holt, and parents Elmer and Della Swain, along with her sister Bonnie.
Beverly Rogers leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and inspiration. Her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. Share condolences at www.cozine.com. Arrangements by Cozine Memorial Group-Broadway Mortuary.
