Beverly Jean Rouse passed away peacefully on April 22, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospice Edgewood, Kentucky. Beverly was born a resident of Walton, Kentucky on March 21, 1941.
Beverly is survived by her brother H. Douglas Rouse (Sandra); her nephews Cameron Rouse and Cassidy Rouse (Lynn); and a grandniece Daphne Rouse. Beverly is also survived by her fiancé David Stefek, his children Michelle Marcum (Jim) and Kerri Stefek; his grandchildren Alec Marcum, Madison Marcum, and aunts Pat Stein and Naomi Spegal. Beverly is pre-deceased by her mother Theora Peebles Locke; her father Harold Rouse; and her uncle David Peebles.
Beverly was a chemist with the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office and Shell Oil in Houston, Texas. She retired from Shell. She also held positions at the Boone County Jail, Boone County Circuit Clerks Office and Kroger.
Beverly was an enthusiastic adventurer who loved mountain climbing, canoeing and even worked as a rain forest guide in Costa Rica. Passionate about nature and animals, she owned and showed a champion Tennessee Walker and rescued dogs, horses, and goats on her farm in Walton. Beverly spent her later years dedicated to her family and her art, often demonstrating her award-winning gourds at the Boone County Fair.
In lieu of flowers you may make donations to Boone County Animal Shelter, 5643 Idlewild Road, Burlington, KY 41005.
Services will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 10272 US 42 Union KY 41091, on Thursday, May 18, 2023. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM with a prayer service to follow.
