Beverly A. Rudquist

Beverly Ann Rudquist, age 79, of Lindstrom, MN, died peacefully, surrounded by family on Friday, March 3, 2023 at her home in Lindstrom.
Beverly fell in love with teaching and with the seventh-grade math teacher when she started her career teaching English 7 in 1965 at Columbia Heights Junior High. Duke and she married in 1966 and he continued at the Heights, while she spent two years at Edina Senior High. Bev then stayed home with their daughters, did a little daycare, and worked part time in retail in Lindstrom until the younger girl and she went to seventh grade together in 1985 at Chisago Lakes. She taught in grades 7-12, worked with the student staffs of the publications, taught adults, worked with ESL-all classes she said were wonderful.
When Duke and she retired they decided to travel, which took them to all 50 states, most of the Canadian provinces, Mexico and much of Western Europe. They had more ideas, but Duke's illness kept them home bound. Reading was also a priority and stacks of books sit all over her home to testify to it. She claimed teaching was great but had no complaints about retirement!
Her sorrow is leaving her beautiful family, all outstanding caregivers: cleverly resourceful daughter, Anne Friederichs and her husband Dan, cheerfully willing daughter, Jeanne Hawkinson and her husband John; cherished grandchildren, Jordan, Alexandra, Aidan, and Jarrett; four sweet great-grandchildren, and her spectacular sister, Julie Lund. Her friends also added to her joy with calls, cards, food, and visits.
She joked about which of her many health problems might lead directly to her demise, but whichever it was, she knew a good life was waiting for her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The American Diabetes Association or Alzheimer's Association.
