Ronald Rudquist Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by California Funeral Alternatives - Escondido on Mar. 28, 2025.
Ronald Dale "Ron" Rudquist, 66, passed away peacefully at his home in San Diego, California, on March 24, 2025.
Born on October 31, 1958, in Ventura, California, Ron lived life to the fullest. His love for motorcycles was a defining part of his life. He found joy in riding across the country, forging lasting friendships with fellow enthusiasts along the way. Always the life of the party, Ron made a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was quick to offer a helping hand to anyone in need and was admired for his generous nature.
Ron spent much of his life in Imperial Beach, California, and Northern Colorado. He served in the United States Army and later enjoyed a successful career in both commercial and residential construction. His work contributed to the infrastructure of San Diego County, and he retired as a business owner specializing in kitchen and bathroom remodeling.
In addition to his career, Ron was passionate about horses. He spent many years on horse ranches, riding his purebred Morgan and assisting others in training their horses. He loved spending time outdoors, enjoying the beach, camping, fishing, scenic drives, and tropical vacations. However, above all, Ron cherished time spent with family.
He is survived by his son, Jeremy (Samantha); grandchildren, Colton, Savannah, and Dean; and brothers, Doug (Lena) and Terry (Rita). He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Haroldeen "Jeri" Fields.
Ron will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, powerful stature, outgoing personality, strong will, kind heart, and as a caring son, supportive father, loving grandfather, loyal brother, generous cousin, sincere friend, and selfless neighbor. May his memory continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who knew him.
A burial service will be held at Lakewood Park Cemetery in Rocky River, OH where Ron can be visited regularly by his son, grandchildren, and dog. The service will be in early summer and all will be welcome; more details will be posted on Ron's Facebook page when available. In lieu of flowers, please do something kind for a family member, friend, or stranger in Ron's memory.

Ron was one of my dearest brothers. We were the same age and lived a lot of the same life. We talked about God, our Military Service and Harley Davidson. He was a true road dog. I loved riding with him and just hanging out with him. I missed my first thank you veteran call this year. It really hurts. I love you Ron, my man. Next time we meet again will be riding side by side high in the sky! God bless you and keep you my brother & friend.
