Obituary of Beverly Jack Simmons
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John on July 9, 2023 in his 86th year surrounded by family following an extended hospital stay. John was born in Chatham, Ontario to Blanche Valette Simmons (nee Edwards) and Harold James Simmons. Loving brother of Bonny and predeceased by brothers Bob and William and sisters Betty, Barbara and Bernice. Predeceased by his loving wife Doris Emily Simmons (nee Johnson), his daughter Kelly Lalonde and his son John Simmons Jr. Loving father of Harold James (Jamie) Simmons and Joe (Diane) Simmons. Dear grandfather of seven (Cathy, Amy, John, Christopher, Marissa, Cassandra, Joshua) and great grandfather of two (Mariah, Oneil).
John retired from General Motors after 32 years and always enjoyed spending time with family at Jellystone Park, watching his kids play lacrosse, playing cards and watching horse racing. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and the family will have a service at a later date. Special thanks to Niagara Health Services for his care in his final days.
