Beverly Simons Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kesling Funeral Home - Mobridge on Jan. 14, 2026.
Beverly "Bev" Richey Simons, age 77, passed away on January 11, 2026, at the Crook County Care Center in Sundance, Wyoming, following a long illness.

Bev was born on July 30, 1948, in Concordia, Kansas, to Harold and Alta Richey. She was raised and dearly loved by the Carol and Virgil Wall family and grew up south of Dupree, South Dakota. As a young girl, Bev rode her horse to Sunnybrook Country School and later graduated from Ipswich High School.

On May 29, 1976, Bev married Rodney Simons. In 1980, they moved to the ranch west of Glenham, where they built a life grounded in hard work and care for one another. In 1981, they welcomed their only daughter, Amanda Nicole. There, Bev created a warm and loving home centered on family.

Bev devoted much of her professional life to healthcare administration at the Mobridge Medical Clinic where she served for 36 years, many years as the Administrator and later as the Manager at Prairie Sunset Village Assisted Living. She took great pride in her work and in the people she served.

Above all, Bev treasured her family and especially cherished being known as "Grandma Bev" and "Aunt Bev."

She is survived by her husband, Rod Simons; her daughter, Mandy (Nick) Bild; grandchildren, Luke and Grace; Ludwig (Vero) Hoerning; brother, David Richey; sister, Charlene (Tom) Stanley; sister-in-law, Judy Richey; brother- and sister-in-law, Scott and Desi Simons; and siblings Allan (Valerie) Wall, Jane (Tom) Burch, Larina (Kent) Brobst, Janice (Dave) Nervig, and Laurell (Kevin) Fisher; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Clyde Richey and Charles Richey; Fritz and Virgie Simons; and Carol and Virgil Wall.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, at 2:00 p.m. CT at the Mobridge United Congregational Church. Memorials may be directed to the Yelduz Shriners Hospital Transportation Fund.
