Beverly M. Spence, 81, of Huntington, Vermont, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on August 22, 2025, at the McClure Miller Respite House in Colchester, VT, after a brief illness.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 60 years, Joseph H. Spence of Huntington, VT. Her son Bradley Spence of Huntington, VT, and her daughter Heidi L. Bormann (Peter) of Richmond, VT. Beverly leaves behind her three precious grandchildren. Jordan Mashia, Kyle Bormann, and Brooke Mashia. She is predeceased by her beautiful daughter Lisa K. Mashia.

Both her parents, Karl Sr. and Grace Moody, her sister Mavis Clough, her brothers Karl Jr. Moody and Daniel Moody.

Beverly was born to Karl Sr. and Grace Moody of Stowe, Vermont, on December 19, 1943, where she grew up and graduated from Stowe High School in 1961. She then went on and graduated from Lasell University in Newton, Mass.

Beverly married Joseph on June 5, 1965, in Burlington, Vermont. They started their lives in Richmond, Vt. then moved to the country and bought a farm that overlooks Camels Hump in Huntington, VT. That is where she raised her family, the farm animals, and tended to her gardens. She enjoyed traveling from the coasts of Maine, Florida but her favorite trip was the Summer of 1993 when her and Joe traveled to Alaska. Fishing for salmon, seeing a grizzly bear, and panning for gold. She would tell you that she caught the biggest fish. Beverly loved being surrounded by nature; she made a bird sanctuary on her back deck, feeding the birds daily. Her favorite bird was the male cardinal he would visit her daily. A few weeks ago, she was graced by a visit of a Baltimore Oriole in her bird feeder, something she had not seen in years she was overjoyed by its grace.

Beverly will be missed by all who loved her. The family would like to thank the UVM Home Health and Hospice team and the Mc Clure Miller Respite House staff for all your loving care they provided for Beverly and her family.

There will be a grave side burial on Saturday October 18, 2025, At the Holy Rosary Cemetery 232 Tilden Ave., Richmond, VT at 10:00am. Immediately following, there will be a Celebration of Life at the home of Heidi and Peter Bormann, 380 Christmas Hill Road, Richmond, VT 05477.
