Beverly Russell "Jeanne" Swartz

Beverly Jeanne Russell) Swartz, age 87, of Canton, passed away on Friday August 26, 2022 in the comfort of her home. She was born in Canton on March 31, 1935 to the late Allen and Ruth (Baum) Russell. She graduated from Bolivar High School and worked at Hercules Engines until starting her family. She married Charlie Swartz October 2, 1954 and was the bookkeeper of Swartz Farms. Jeanne was a member of St. Jacob s Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Stark County Agricultural Society, Stark County Farm Bureau, Plain Grange and was by her husband s side throughout their accomplishments. She enjoyed planning for family celebrations and volunteering at the fair.
She is survived by her children Debra (Terry) Tournoux, Ed Swartz, David (Judy) Swartz, Kevin (Phyllis) Swartz; grandchildren Aaron (Lindsay) Tournoux, Zachary (Brittany) Tournoux, Marissa Tournoux, Kyle Swartz, Keith Swartz, David Swartz Jr.; great-granddaughter Avery Tournoux; sister-in-law Eleanor (Thomas) Jackson. Preceded in death by husband Charlie on July 23, 2022; sister Katherine (Lyle) Crawford and brother Robert (Alice) Russell; great-granddaughter Harper Tournoux; and sisters-in-law Arlene Swartz and Harriet (Lloyd) Leadbetter.
Calling hours are Tuesday September 6th, 5-8 PM and Wednesday prior to services 10-11 AM all at St. Jacob s Lutheran Church. Funeral services are Wednesday September 7th, 11 AM in the church with Pastor Angel Jackson officiating. Final resting place is St. Jacob s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Stark County Agriculture Society (for Junior Fair Charlie and Jeanne Swartz Scholarship) or to St. Jacob s Lutheran Church.
