Beverly Ann Talonen
1941 - 2026
Beverly Ann Talonen of Trout Lake, age 84, passed away on February 1, 2026, at her home in
Bovey, MN surrounded by family. Her gentle spirit, kindness and sweet smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Beverly (Bev) was born near
Effie, Minnesota on May 17, 1941, to Elmer and Gladys (Jaeger) Bullock. When she was 12 years old, the family moved to Clearwater Lake (near Blackberry, MN). She graduated from Greenway High School in 1959.
On July 11, 1959, she married her high school sweetheart Mauri Talonen in Trout Lake. They bought property and built a home in Trout Lake Township where they raised their three boys. Bev took extraordinary pride in being a homemaker and loving wife and Mom and lived out the rest of her years in that home.
Bev enjoyed many outdoorsy pastimes with Mauri and their boys. It started with tent camping, but later accommodations included a home-made pop-up camper, renovated school bus and finally a nice pull behind camper. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, boating and motorcycle touring on their Gold Wing. They often shared these outings with friends or family. She and Mauri enjoyed many cross-country road trips as well and visited every state in the continental U.S.! In addition, she took pleasure in tending to their large vegetable garden and thoroughly enjoyed canning, cooking and baking. She was involved in organizations over the years, starting with 4H in the early days and later the North Central MN (Blackberry) Farm & Antique Club where she served as secretary until recently. But family was always the most important thing to her. Every summer she would rent a lake house somewhere that was big enough for the whole family for a week of fun and she would always be sure to plan get-togethers for all other events and holidays through the years. She especially loved to interact with the "littles." They brought her immense joy!
She is survived by her husband Mauri of 66 years; sons, Rick (Jill), Ken (Pam) and Jim (Jodi); grandchildren, Donald, Daniel, Brandon, Jeri, Tara (Steven) Solheid, Brock and Molly; and great-grandchildren; Isabelle, Daphne, Milo, Graham, Paige, twins John and Noah, and Riley. Sister Pearl McMullen; sisters-in-law; JoAnne Tennison and LouAnne (Willie) Berndt; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Howard Owen Bullock, Marion Peacore, Evelyn Lund, and Bertha Klennert; sister-in-law Iris Bullock; brothers-in-law, Jesse Lund, Donald (Pat) McMullen, Rick Klennert and Dennis Tennison and great-grandson Colt.
The family would like to thank the St. Croix hospice and nurses Will and Lea for their excellent care.
Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the 11:00 AM Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 14, 2026, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel,
