Beverly Temrowski Obituary

Published by D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home on Aug. 22, 2018.
Beverly Joan Temrowski, age 82 and longtime resident of Warren, Michigan died peacefully at home on August 22, 2018. Beverly was born May 14, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, daughter of the late Howard Herbert Climie and the late Eleanor Blanche (nee: Andrysiak) Climie. Bev was raised in Grosse Pointe and graduated from Grosse Pointe High School, the graduating class of 1954. While in high school she was both socially active along with being a very good athlete. She was raised with her three sisters with whom she stayed very close throughout her entire life. Following high school, she enrolled at Radford College in Virginia, studying for her first year and eventually returning home to Grosse Pointe to join the workforce. Bev worked for Eastern Airlines within the ticketing department, a job she enjoyed working alongside other young women and also the perks of traveling. She would later meet the love of her life by happenstance at a funeral she was attending... meeting a young funeral director by the name of Don. A short courtship and a long wonderful marriage ensued, beginning on February 8, 1958, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores. It was there that Donald and Beverly promised themselves in marriage and began the journey that would lead them through the blessings of six children and the beginnings of a very successful business together. Life is never easy for anyone, and was certainly not for Don and Bev. The two began their honeymoon with a plane crash, fortunately, surviving, therefore, realizing God had a plan. Bev and her husband first settled on the east side of Detroit... while Don was busy starting his first funeral home, Bev became the consummate "Stay at Home Mom" raising her young children. As the family grew to six children, Don and Bev soon realized that many families were moving north to the burgeoning community of Warren, Michigan. It was Warren which would become their new home and future location of Don's second funeral home. The Temrowski family became a fixture both in the community and also within funeral service helping many of the local families deal with the loss of a loved one. Over the years Bev was very active with her children's sporting and school activities while they were young, along with volunteering at St. John Macomb Hospital for over 36 years. She assisted her husband at the funeral home with any task that may arise, from cleaning bathrooms to mechanical repairs. Bev could handle just about any task along with keeping her own home meticulous. With all of her daily activities and busy schedule, Bev was a devout Catholic and devoted to prayer, praying the Rosary, and fiercely devoted to the Blessed Mother. She would tell her children that she prayed to the Blessed Mother because every good son listens to his mother (referring to Jesus). Bev and her husband were active boaters keeping their boat at Emerald City Marina for many years, where they made many wonderful friends. The couple also wintered in Marco Island Florida, a location which eventually became home. While in Marco Island, Bev and her husband were members of San Marco Church and the Island Country Club. Bev made many cherished friendships over the years in Marco Island establishing friends from all over the United States and Canada. Quiet time at home for Bev usually involved praying the Rosary or solving a crossword puzzle. She will be forever remembered and missed by everyone who was fortunate to know Beverly. The Lord replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest." Exodus 33:14 Bev was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Donald S. Temrowski and was the dear mother of Ann Baker, Daniel (Julie) Temrowski, Carol (Dr. Timothy) Duffin, Mary (Thomas) Carroll, David (Sandra) Temrowski, and Kenneth (Becca) Temrowski. Loving Nana of Katie (Matthew) Bobbitt, Mathew, Mikael, Lana, Jack, Kyle, Ryan, Bridget (Greg) Dearborn, Andrew, Elizabeth, Sean, Benjamin, Kelly, William, Tate, Maty, Shea, Weston, Ryder, and Great-Nana of Baylee and Grace. She was the sister of Jacqueline (the late Louis) Marcetti, Christine (Terry) Jackson, and the late Marlene Ruyle. Sister-in-law of Marilyn (Dr. Robert) McDonald, and David Ruyle. Bev's children especially wish to acknowledge the wonderful care and attention provided to Bev in the last years of her life that allowed her to continue to winter in Florida and stay comfortable in her last days at her home in Warren by all her caregivers. A warm and loving thanks to Valerie Scott and her sister Elizabeth Harris, along with all their extended family members that brought many smiles to Beverly's face. Bev's children will never forget your compassion and love for their mother. Visitation for Bev will be held on Friday from 3-9pm, with a 7pm Rosary, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road). Mrs. Temrowski will lie in state on Saturday 12:30pm, at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, 31555 Hoover Road in Warren until the time of the Funeral Mass at 1pm. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Reverend Fr. Nick Zukowski and Reverend Fr.Roman Pasieczny. Memorial donations are appreciated to Cure PSP, www.PSP.org or St. Paul of the Cross Retreat House, 23333 Schoolcraft Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, 48223 Please share memories of Bev at her memory book above.

Don and Bev were the perfect compliment to each other and completed each other. She was like the big sister you always wanted as a kid. And my how the next generations are being fruitful and multiplying. What a great role model she was. What a mother is supposed to be. God Bless and cast his blessings on you all. (I named my daughter after Carol).

I was blessed to have had Bev as a best friend for 71 years. We shared so much together. We laughed together and cried together. We shared good times and the bad times. We shared raising our kids together but most of all we shared a love for each other and life. My husband and I will miss her but we will always remember how wonderful she was. Your loss is truly Heavens gain. Our deepest sympathy to all of you and we pray for strength and courage for each and every one..Love forever, Marlene & Frank

Mary, David, et al. I am so very sorry for your loss but we all know she is in a much better place as the Blessed Mother embraced her and welcomed her home. Don and Bev were very special people and I am happy I had the pleasure to not only work for them 9 years but also was able to call them friends. Your mom was such a sweet lady and I loved our daily talks. The last visit we had a couple years ago seemed like we had never been apart and we were able to catch up.
The tribute you made was beautiful and I'm glad you included several of her with her children, grandchildren and great-children. Anyone who knew Bev knows she loved family and lived for itactually they both did. I will think of them every visit to Marco Island and when I see the paver stone at San Marco Church we had placed for our dear friends. RIP sweet Bev

I will always remember Bev's smiling face and loving care and concern for her family and friends. My husband, the late Michael Kleerekoper, and Bev's husband Don were good friends who introduced Bev to me. We enjoyed their company both in Michigan and in Florida. I was fortunate to spend some time with Bev without "the guys" and enjoy her sense of humor and love for her wonderful family. I will miss her, and send my deepest sympathy to the family.

This is so sad to me. I just said to my husband last week, I must charge my mothers (Lorraine Lorden) phone to call Bev because her phone number was in there. And, as you can see, I'm too late. Bev was my mothers best friend in Marco. She adored Bev for her sincere, straight forward honesty, very much like my own Mom. When Bev lost Don, that was so sad for her. Mom and Bev called each other when Mom lived with us here in Durham for 2 years but after Mom died, I just lost touch due to my incredibly devastating loss of my mother, friend, all things she was to me. But, oh Bev, did my mother love you! When she would talk about Bev, it was always with the biggest smile and laughter. The two of them did talk for a few times but Mom had trouble using the phone as her understanding had limits. I always thought of Bev as so young and vibrant and just a plain wonderful woman. I am so sorry for all of you as I'm sure you will miss her a lot. My heart goes out to you. The good news is, Lorraine and Bev are back again together!!!!! Yeah, I'm sure my mother is thrilled.

I am sorry to learn of Bev's death. She was a very special lady. She was always there to give me a hand and had a wonderful ear for listening. Don and Bev both played a big part in my life. I often think back on the 9 years I worked for them and have nothing but respect for the two of them.
